Recapping Before The Road Trip!

So, I’ve been very distracted with “DuckTales” as of late. Really, I’m watching it right now when I should be writing for my practice month of NaNoWriMo. I’m a bad writer, sometimes. Not in the sense that my writing is bad (of course, that’s just my own personal opinion. I like to hope it’s not bad), but that I slack off when I really shouldn’t be. It’s just…sometimes my brain needs a break from the imaginary world I have created and I need to do other things.

Tomorrow, I leave for Florida. It will be a 14 hour drive. I leave with Kels and her brother, Marty. Really, I’m a bit nervous about the long ride because it will be my first long road trip without my parents or a family member (but if you look at our family tree, Kels and Marty are actually related to me and my family by marriage and we’re like 4th cousins, once removed, or something like that). It’s a far stretch, though.

I am very excited, though, that I get to see Jaren! My very best friend! He’s even letting us stay at his apartment, yay! (If you remember, Jaren is the first boy I fell in love with and was mentioned in this post: Love: A Seemingly Impossible Quest). I cannot wait to spend the next four days with him! We’re going to the beach, Downtown Disney, having a BBQ, ah it all sounds so wonderful!

Oh, then my audition at Disney World is Monday. I practiced the 16 bars of “Cockeyed Optimist” that I will be singing singing today with a piano accompaniment. Really, I don’t care if I don’t get the part of Dory for the Finding Nemo: The Musical, but I just really, really want a part! I don’t care if I’m one of the coral actors. Just let me be in this show, please!

Also, I have a new favorite song: Uma Thurman by Fall Out Boy.

Look for my words again soon!

A Brilliant Idea, Maybe?

I’m tired, but not tired. It’s such a weird feeling, you know? I had this brilliant idea earlier to stay up all night so that I can fix my sleep schedule. Stay up all night and then go to bed early the next day. So, that’s what I am in the process of accomplishing. However, while I felt tired for a bit, I don’t feel sleepy. Does that make sense?

Anyway, I kept myself busy, watching “Nana” on Netflix, folding two loads of laundry and putting it away, sorting through my clothes and setting aside pieces I want to donate or give away, organized the bathroom drawer, and swept the kitchen floor. Now, it’s finally starting to become lighter outside. The sun will rise soon.

The candle I lit a few hours ago is stil burning. It’s scented to smell like chocolae peanut butter. It’s not my choice of candle, but since it’s all we have until its done and we buy a new one, I have to burn it as often as possible to get rid of it. It’s a really sweet scent and it sort of gives me a headache after awhile. I like sweet things, but it’s just really too sweet of a scent for a candle, I think.

I’m not sure what I’ll do today aside from going to a doctor appointment in the afternoon. Recently, we gave away our above-ground pool and deck to our neighbors, since they have younger kids who will enjoy it, and now we have a round patch of sand in a section of our yard. Maybe I’ll rake it out a bit so it’s spread out and then we can lay down a layer of topsoil and grass seed to get a nice green patch growing there again. Also, some of the bushes could use a trim. Honeysuckle seems especially evasive this year.

Friday is the big day, the day I drive to Florida with Kels. We’re going down together to audition for Disney’s “Finding Nemo: The Musical”. It’s a stage-show that performs at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. They’re looking to cast a new Dory and Nemo, and a few other roles. I’m auditioning for the part of Dory. I have to prepare a 16-bar song to sing. I’ve chosen “Cock-Eyed Optimist” from “South Pacific” because I already know the words. I was in “South Pacific” back in 2011. It’s a cute play.

Well, look for my words again soon.

Disney and an Accomplice Blog!

I am no longer in consideration for the Concept Artist position at Disney Interactive Gaming. That’s a bummer. I really wanted that internship. -sigh- As they say, one door closes, another opens. Next month, I will try to make it to Disney World in Florida to audition for the part of Dory in the Finding Nemo Musical that they do at Animal Kingdom. Wish me luck in that endeavor!

In the meantime, I will continue work on my commission. It’s coming along nicely, I must say. I’m very pleased with how it looks so far. Since I’m working with oil paints, when I’m not painting, I leave the easel and painting set up in front of the air conditioner to help the paints dry a littler faster so I can work on different areas without smearing anything.

Currently, I’m roasting some chick peas and then I’ll spice them for a tasty snack. I’m trying very hard to eat healthier. Since my mom is diabetic, I want to try and avoid that myself. As it may run in the family, I’m at a higher risk, so as of late, not only am I trying to eat better, but I am also trying to exercise on a more daily basis.

Jae has been sick since yesterday. I went to the local CVS to buy him medicine and saltine crackers last night. When I came home, after a half hour, he asked me for gatorade. So, I made a trip to Shop Rite at 1030 PM at night. After I came home, I told him he’s lucky I like him, haha!

Wow this is delicious! I just got my roasted chick peas out of the oven! I officially am declaring that I will start a food blog, too, and share the recipes that I find. Would any of you follow it? Here, I’m going to start it now, so that I don’t forget. Okay, almost an hour later, I’m done! Here’s the link to my second blog here on WordPress. I’ve ttled it: Tuck In and Chow Down!

Please enjoy my adventures there, too! Thank you very much for treating me so kindly thus far. I continue to hope that we can be good friends and readers together here!

Look for my words again soon.
